Melissa and her family moved from New Jersey to Charleston in 2016. She and her husband of 20 years have two children, a sixteen year old daughter and twelve year old son. While in New Jersey, she professional trained and rode horses. Upon moving to SC, she was trained and started as Dr. Horton's surgical veterinary technician and has been with the mobile hospital since it's opening in 2018. In her free time, she loves reading and playing with her dog, Sabre and her love bird, Sage.
Megan is originally from Columbia, SC and attended the University of South Carolina where she earned a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management. She was also one of two interns accepted into the management program at Disney World in Orlando.
After her internship, she worked in sales and customer service at Wild Dunes in Charleston. From there, she went on to manage a catering company in Charleston.
After a traumatic incident with her Persian cat, Francis, she discovered her true passion and motivation to become a part of the veterinary community. She decided to take a detour from hotel management and found herself as a receptionist in a fast paced veterinary emergency hospital. At the time, she knew nothing about veterinary medicine, but in the ER you have to learn fast; especially when you are the one answering the phones! That passion led her to become a technician where she continued to gain knowledge in the industry for the past five years.
She is excited to merge all of her past experiences and her passion for caring for animals into her role with CMAC.
She and her husband have a one year old baby boy, a terrier mix, and an exotic shorthair cat; both animals are rescues. In her spare time, Megan enjoys playing outside with her son, spending time with friends and listening to mystery podcasts.
